The Darlington Arts Festival is currently in its 46th year and is Western Australia’s longest running community art event. This year, the festival will be held at the Darlington Hall and Oval on the corner of Owen Road and Pine Terrace in Darlington, PAWS will be catering at this event for the whole weekend.
The festival is held over two days and in 2009, will run from 10am to 8pm on Saturday 7th and from 10am to 5pm on Sunday 8th November. Entry to the festival is FREE.
This year we are celebrating the Year of Astronomy – and will be utilising this theme through our entertainmentprogram and school art program.
Rich in history, the Darlington Arts Festival, began with humble beginnings back in 1968. Starting as an art exhibition in the local hall by renowned Hills artists Robert Juniper, Hal Missingham, David Gregson and Guy Grey-Smith the festival began as a fundraising venture for the local volunteer bush fire brigade. Still with close links to its long history, the Darlington Arts Festival has grown over the years to be a fantastic free event for all ages.
We hope you will join us on the 7th and 8th November 2009 to celebrate this wonderful community event.
